Let's talk about the pantry today. Odds are you have a pantry or closet near your kitchen. Many of you store your kitchen items in cabinets near your stovetop, but many of us keep our kitchen goodies in our pantry.
Today I want to talk to you about simple ways to organize your pantry or food storage cabinet, and keep it organized.
Does your pantry look like this?
Do you want it to look like this?

Here's how!
Step 1: Empty your pantry. Check expiration dates and dispose of anything whose shelf-life has expired.
Step 2: Wipe down shelves, sweep floors, wipe down walls.
Step 3: Store like items together. I purchased inexpensive white plastic containers and bins at Wal-mart for less than $2.00 each for oatmeal packets, granola and breakfast bars, and lunch snacks. I also purchased four cereal containers.
Step 4: Determine where your items need to go. Canned goods together, pastas together, cereals together, desserts together. I also keep one bin for all my baking supplies.
Step 5: Label, label, label. It won't do you any good to bundle everything together in pretty little baskets and bins if you don't know what's inside of them.
This task should take you anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour depending on how deeply you clean, how much you have to throw away, and how many times you stop to snack :)
Keep up the good work! You're making great progress!
